Responsibilities:
- To apply the correct tape, of the correct thickness, with the correct profile, to the correct side/s and number of sides and that the tape is always adhered correctly.
- Check labels and component sizing
- To edge panels in line with production schedule ensuring all components within the cutting list/production order are produced to the right quality
- Ensure jobs are processed accurately against production orders and cutting lists in line with production requirements, processing most urgent orders first.
- Liaising with the production controller keeping abreast of changes in requirements.
- You will handle each product a minimum of twice and there is plenty of opportunity for inspection of the product that has been cut and passed to you on both sides and for you to inspect the quality of the edging and board quality having passed through the edge bander.
- You must pay attention to chipping, sizing, adherence, corner rounding, trimming and profiling, adhesion and cleanliness from excess glue removal, surface imperfections such as scratching and quality challenges with the laminating process.
- All orders separated and clearly identifiable on the trolleys and pallets. Gables paired ready for the next process.
- Panels should be produced with frequent quality checks completed to ensure quality is maintained. Panels produced in a safe manner following the SOP’s with equipment maintained and in good condition.
- Where a faulty product has been discovered activate the SMR process in a timely manner particularly where new components need to be produced again to meet the requirements of the manifest/job cutting list
- To play your part in the stock control of glue, edging tape, cleaning fluids, cutting and milling tools and other consumables.
- As continuous improvement is an essential part of all our Jobs, you will assist in the data gathering as well placing equal importance to assist with determination of strategies for improvement and implementation of change to drive the business forward.
- Maximising machine uptime is essential, your performance will be measured in both terms of output and quality. As part of maximising machine uptime, you will be required to complete and report daily on performance.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in operating production machinery
- Able to pick up the differences between colours and slight changes in shades of colours.
- Understand cabinet construction
- Able to follow SOP and work unsupervised
- Able to problem solve and identify improvements to make the current situation easier, faster and safer.
- Has good PC skills.
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to take responsibility and be accountable for your actions
