Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic kitchen designer to join a dynamic in-house design team and assist in delivering stunning design solutions for its large and diverse trade customer portfolio. Based at their head office in County Durham, the role is an integral part of the Contract Design department’s drive to deliver creative, innovative, and commercial kitchen designs that interpret a range of interior and spatial design briefs.
Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for the customer experience from initial design concepts, through to completion of sale, for a variety of contract clients.
- You will identify and interpret our clients' needs and deliver true, lifestyle-based kitchen solutions
- Creativity, innovation and the ability to understand and interpret briefs in an interior and spatial design context is essential
- Briefs vary from individual kitchen designs to multiple plot site
- Production of 3D designs and visuals to demonstrate the concept, 2D technical drawings and product breakdowns for order placement
- Understanding of the company’s product portfolio and the ability to create commercially appropriate design solutions considering the brief.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven kitchen/interior design background with a minimum of 2 years’ experience
- Experience of working commercial clients (interior designers/ architects/ trade)
- Strong design ability, proficient in the latest design software, with a knowledge and passion for the latest styles and trends
- Highly personable and an efficient, professional communicator – both verbally and in the written form
- A problem solver and lateral thinker who deals well under pressure
- Motivated, with the ability to self-manage and work as team at all levels of management
- Experience using Winner and/or EQ software packages
- Experience of working under pressure
- Must be able to plan and prioritise work schedules to meet strict customer deadlines ▪ Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Flexible, open attitude and keen to collaborate, learn and share knowledge
- Proactive problem solver and willingness to own responsibility
- Highly motivated and effective team player
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrates a positive ‘can do’ attitude
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Full UK driving license
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Extensive kitchen industry experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Design
- Competent in using EQ/Winner software packages
